Water park safety is a partnership between parents and parks. Parents should always monitor their children directly, especially when they are young or weak swimmers. Here are some tips to remember when visiting a water park.
-Children under the age of 4-8, non-swimmers and weak swimmers should wear Coast Guard approved life jackets and enjoy the attractiveness of the water park. If you are not sure if it is appropriate, please bring your own life jacket.
-Dress properly, including a hat and a loose shirt, in case the sun is full. Monitor how much sunshine children, especially young children, are exposed to. Note: water shoes are not usually allowed on slides and scenic spots.
-Apply a waterproof sunscreen(repeated throughout the day)and a large amount of liquid(avoid drinks containing sweeteners or caffeine)before leaving the door.
-Children wearing diapers should wear waterproof swimming diapers to minimize leakage. Change diapers only in designated diaper changing areas.
-Read the logo of each of the water park attractions, and listen to all the audio instructions provided by the recording or staff. Follow all rules and experience level guidelines.
-Follow the lifeguard's instructions and signal someone if you see someone in trouble.
-Just like visiting entertainment parks and attractions, it is always smart to designate a venue, and some people are separated from your party. The partnership system is an excellent way to ensure that no children leave alone.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that all swimmers be vigilant in three basic guidelines for preventing the spread of the disease:
-if you have diarrhea, don't swim. This is especially important for children in diapers.
-Don't swallow the pool. If possible, try to avoid putting water in your mouth.
-keep good hygiene and shower before swimming. In addition, wash your hands thoroughly after using the toilet or changing diapers.
In addition to these steps, the CDC issued these additional advice to parents with young children:
-Take your kids to the bathroom often throughout the day.
-change diapers outside the bathroom and swimming pool. Bacteria can spread from objects around the pool.
